Boomi integrates the estate.
Engini decides what agents may do.
Boomi is a broad hybrid integration platform that now packages connectors as MCP tools. Engini is the gateway in front of your systems of record that scopes, approves and audits every agent call.

A platform suite and a focused gateway
Boomi is a long-established integration platform with API management, data management, Agentstudio for agent lifecycle and, since May 2026, Boomi Connect, a managed MCP connector service with per-user OAuth and action-level access controls.
Engini is narrower on purpose. It is the governed layer between agents and systems of record, with toolsets, approvals, an audit trail and live schema for ERP instances, plus an agentic workflow canvas on the same core.
Where Boomi is strong
- Hybrid runtimes: Boomi-hosted clouds or your own Atoms and Molecules
- Boomi Connect with 1,000+ MCP-enabled tools, including SAP and NetSuite (per Boomi)
- Agentstudio and Agent Control Tower for agent lifecycle and third-party agent visibility
- API management heritage and an MCP Registry
- Published self-serve entry pricing
Where Engini is built to win
- Toolsets that decide which tools each agent can see
- Approvals that hold risky calls for a person
- An audit trail of every call, its arguments and the person it acted for
- Live schema for SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Workday and Salesforce, custom fields included
- On-Prem Agent for systems behind the firewall, outbound only
- MCP, SDK, CLI, REST and a no-code canvas on one core
Boomi vs Engini, side by side
Choose Engini, Boomi, or both
Choose Engini when
- Your main goal is safe agent access to ERP, HR and CRM records
- You want approvals and audit on each call without building processes first
- You prefer a focused gateway over adopting a full platform suite
- You want to start free
Choose Boomi when
- You need a full hybrid integration and API management platform
- You already run Boomi runtimes across your estate
- You want one vendor for data management and agent lifecycle
Where the difference shows up
With Boomi: Build or reuse a Boomi process for the order, expose it as a tool and govern access per action.
With Engini: Grant sap.salesOrder.create in the agent's toolset, hold orders above a threshold for approval, and audit the call.
With Boomi: Run a Boomi runtime inside your network.
With Engini: Install the On-Prem Agent, which calls out only. No inbound ports, no runtime to operate.
With Boomi: Configure access per tool and per user identity.
With Engini: Give each agent its own toolset. Reads can run alone, writes can wait for a person.
Using Boomi and Engini together
Boomi can keep running your data integrations and API management. Engini governs the agent calls into the same systems of record, so security teams get one place to see what each agent did.

Boomi vs Engini: common questions
Is Engini a Boomi alternative?
For governed agent access to systems of record, yes. Boomi is a broader integration suite. Engini focuses on the agent call: toolsets, approvals, audit and live schema, plus a no-code workflow canvas.
Does Boomi support MCP?
Yes. Boomi Connect, announced in May 2026, is a managed MCP connector service, and Boomi processes can be exposed as MCP tools. Some MCP items are on Boomi's Q4 2026 roadmap.
Do I need to run a runtime to reach on-prem systems with Engini?
No. The Engini On-Prem Agent runs inside your network and makes outbound calls only.
How does Boomi price?
Boomi publishes a pay-as-you-go plan starting at $99 a month plus $0.05 per message. Enterprise plans are quote-based.
How do I connect my AI agent to Engini?
Point any MCP client to https://mcp.engini.io and pass the toolset you want the agent to use in the X-Engini-Toolset header. The same tools are available from the SDK, the CLI and the REST API, and the agent only sees the tools inside its toolset.
